No timers, no death penalty. A first-person voxel base-building game where you slowly hand your manual work over to machines, on islands you share with your friends.
DriftyLands is a first-person, voxel-style base-building game where you play alone or share one chain of islands with up to four players. You hit resources and credits pile up; the machines you research at the Monument take the work off your hands, tier by tier. The design premise is clear from the start: a game you can play while listening to something, one that doesn't punish you.
The islands you travel to have enemies, but they are fenced in so they don't break that premise: the starting island never spawns enemies, every creature is tied to where it spawned, and the only cost of losing a fight is the walk back.
Every island has a Monument, and every island you buy has a dungeon beneath it. Islands, research and the purse are shared; skills and the quest book are each player's own.
The free demo has the starting island and the first island you buy, Mirelight, in full: its dungeon, its Warden and the first two skill shelves. In research, the first three rungs are open (Logistics, Power, Breaking); the other seven islands and the rest of the tech tree are in the Early Access release.
